Doris, portrayed by Chantell D. Christopher, is a recurring character in the third and fifth seasons of Stranger Things. She is the receptionist at Hawkins Memorial Hospital.

History

1985

When Nancy Wheeler decided to visit Doris Driscoll, she lied to the receptionist, also named Doris, that Driscoll was her grandmother, so she allowed it. The next day, Nancy brought Jonathan, Mike, Eleven, Lucas, Max to visit Driscoll again. Doris, however, only allowed Jonathan and Nancy to go up as hospital rules only allowed two people to visit patients. She was very skeptical about Nancy's lie that everyone there was her family, especially given Lucas (he said it was the extended family), but dismissed this. When the Hospital Monster merged from Tom Holloway and Bruce Lowe and started attacking Nancy and Jonathan, the rest of the group made their way to them, ignoring Doris.
