Jeremy Higgins, better known as Mr. Higgins, portrayed by Bill Winkler, is a secondary antagonist in Stranger Things: Flight of Icarus and a minor character in the fifth season of Stranger Things. He was the principal of Hawkins High School in the mid 1980s.
History
Background
At some point, Higgins became the principal of Hawkins High School. He succeeded another principal who left the role in 1983 or 1984.
1984
Higgins held a dislike towards Eddie Munson, believing that he started two fights which were actually started by Tommy H. The first time he told him to think about his future and said he was a bad influence. However, the second time, he said he was shutting down Hellfire Club due to the controversy. He even told Eddie he should drop out due to all the trouble he was causing. He did, but after losing his chance to move to California, Higgins refused to take him back. However, Eddie revealed that he knew Higgins was taking "Bennies" (Benzedrine) for the heck of it. This left Higgins speechless as he had no choice but to let Eddie and Hellfire stay.[1]
1985
Principal Higgins was present during the orientation ceremony when the party was starting high school.[2]
1986
Eddie mentioned his dislike of Higgins on the day of Hellfire's "Cult of Vecna" D&D campaign, telling his club that when he graduates, he's gonna look at Higgins dead in the eye, snatch the diploma, flip him off, and run out of there.[3]
1989
Principal Higgins introduced Dustin up to the podium for his valedictorian speech during the graduation of his year's class. After Dustin finishes his speech and rebels, fulfilling Eddie's words, Higgins starts to become agitated. Dustin takes the diploma from him and flips him off, agitating him more. When all of the students stood up and cheered for Dustin, an enraged Higgins furiously orders them to sit down or he would give them summer school and detention.[4]

Trivia
- Higgins is described at one point as wearing khakis and brown tassel loafers.[1]
- Although he has been mentioned several times before, Higgins never appeared on the main show until the series finale.
