The following Stranger Things-related events occurred in 2018:
March
- March 2: Maya Hawke was announced as a new series regular joining the third season, portraying Robin. Additionally, Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair) was promoted from recurring to a regular cast member.[1]
April
- April 18: Two new recurring cast members were announced: Cary Elwes as Mayor Kline and Jake Busey as Bruce.[2]
- April 20: Production on the third season began in Atlanta, with the cast gathering for the season's first table read.[3]
May
- May 9: It was announced that Francesca Reale had been cast as the recurring character Heather.[4]
June
- June 13: It was announced that Telltale Games was developing a Stranger Things-themed video game in collaboration with Netflix.[5]
July
- July 16: The first teaser trailer for the third season was released.[6]
September
- September 14: The first Stranger Things-themed maze for Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights was launched at Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.[7]
- September 21: Following Telltale Games' majority studio closure, its planned Stranger Things game was canceled and remained unreleased.[8]
- September 26: The first issue of Stranger Things: The Other Side was released.[9]
- September 27: Entertainment Weekly revealed the official cover and posted the first chapter of the novel Stranger Things: Suspicious Minds.[10]
October
- October 5: Stranger Things: Halloween Sounds from the Upside Down was released digitally.[11]
- October 30: The companion book Stranger Things: Worlds Turned Upside Down was released.[12]
- October 31: The second issue of Stranger Things: The Other Side was released.[13]

- The first official Stranger Things Day was held by Netflix.[14]
- Season 2 was released on Blu-ray/DVD exclusively at Target retailers.[15]
