- "The New Class" revealed that Max's surname was "Mayfield".
- The Upside Down was originally called "The Nether" and is called as such in the teleplays for Season 1.
- For timing the kiss between Mike and Eleven at the Snow Ball dance, actor Finn Wolfhard let Millie Bobby Brown know by whispering "I'm coming in" right before the kiss.
- The kiss between Lucas and Max was the first kiss for both Sadie and Caleb, respectively. It was also not in the script.
- Gaten Matarazzo, who played Dustin Henderson in the series, was the first of the four boys to be cast in Stranger Things.
- Finn's video audition for Stranger Things was filmed while he was sick in bed.
- Bob was not originally intended to have a heroic role.
- Millie cried after filming her scene with Dr. Brenner in "The Lost Sister".

- Stranger Things auditioned 906 boys and 307 girls to play the kids. They were asked to read scenes from the pilot episode and from Stand by Me.
- The Duffer Brothers revealed that the Steve-Dustin partnership in Season 2 was surprising because it was never planned before production, and the pairing organically became part of the story during the writing process.
- Steve Harrington was conceived as being "the biggest douchebag on the planet" and was originally meant to die in Season 1. However, due to Joe Keery's likeable portrayal, the Duffers fell in love with the character and decided to keep him alive.
- Mike's and Eleven's reunion at the end of "The Mind Flayer" was originally planned to take place at the Snow Ball, in the season finale.
- In the original plan for the season, Will would've personally killed Bob while under the Mind Flayer's possession.
- Shawn Levy revealed that the argument between Hopper and Eleven with the shattered windows was filmed without any visual effects, with the crews blowing out all the windows on-set.
- The raw meat that Steve and Dustin prepare for Dart was a combination of watermelon and ground meat.
Other notes
- Winona Ryder and Cara Buono were the only main cast members not to be interviewed.
- The Beyond Stranger Things title theme, a remix of the main Stranger Things theme, was produced by C418, best known for his work on the Minecraft soundtrack.
- For unknown reasons, Beyond Stranger Things did not return as the after-show for future seasons. Alternative formats for behind the scenes content have since been used for subsequent seasons, such as the podcast Behind The Scenes: Stranger Things 3 and the after-shows Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1: Unlocked and Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2: Unlocked.
